Stockton Mass Shooting at Child’s Birthday Party Claims Four Lives, Including 21-Year-Old Susano Archuleta

STOCKTON, Calif. (US News): Family members have identified 21-year-old Susano Archuleta as one of four people killed in a mass shooting that erupted during a child’s birthday party in north Stockton on Saturday night.

Patricia Flores, Archuleta’s aunt, spoke publicly Sunday about the loss of her nephew, whom she described as a kind and caring young man who was simply attending a celebration for a close friend’s daughter.

“He was a good kid,” Flores said. “He was there to celebrate his friend’s little girl. That’s all.”

The deadly incident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on November 29 in the 4500 block of Torino Circle. Stockton police say at least two gunmen opened fire on a large outdoor gathering, killing four people and wounding at least 11 others.

The three additional victims who lost their lives were children, ages 8, 9, and 14, according to authorities. Their identities have not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Officers arriving at the scene discovered multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. All 14 victims were rushed to area hospitals, where Archuleta and the three children were pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made, and investigators have not yet determined a motive for the attack.

“This is an unimaginable tragedy, especially at a child’s birthday party,” a Stockton Police Department spokesperson said Sunday. “Our detectives are working around the clock to bring those responsible to justice.”

The shooting has sent shockwaves through the Stockton community, with residents expressing grief and outrage over the senseless violence.

Flores said her family is turning to faith and community support during this devastating time.

The Stockton Police Department urges anyone with information, photos, or video related to the shooting to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Stockton Crime Stoppers at 209-946-0600.
